Our Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling is BACP-accredited, mapped to Framework B of the SCoPEd framework, and endorsed by QLS (part of the Skills and Education Group). ROA is the only training provider in Purley, Croydon, and the East Surrey boroughs offering this level of professional accreditation. All graduates gain Registered Counsellor status with the BACP—the UK’s leading professional body—and many go on to achieve full BACP accreditation.
Important Notes:
- BACP-accredited courses meet the highest professional training standards and lead directly to BACP registration.
- BACP-endorsed or approved courses meet general educational standards but are not equivalent to accreditation and do not grant automatic registration. Graduates of non-accredited courses must pass the BACP Certificate of Proficiency (CoP) assessment to become Registered Members.
What is SCoPEd?
The SCoPEd framework (Scope of Practice and Education) outlines three levels of professional competence:
- Column A – Qualified to practice at entry level; must pass an assessment(CoP) to register.
- Column B – BACP-accredited course graduates, qualified to practice with greater depth and autonomy.
- Column C – Advanced practitioners with additional training and experience.

Our training is delivered in person, with sessions running twice a month on Saturdays.
The Level 5 Diploma also includes one additional evening session per month, delivered via Zoom.
This structure allows learners to progress steadily while maintaining balance, reflection, and wellbeing.
Learners are supported through a clear course structure, reflective learning, and ongoing guidance throughout their training journey.
